Hot Air

Wow talk about lot of HOT air. A local HVAC contractor said to a client "Nawh, we always insulate on the flat, you don't need to insulate those slopes."

Then he inadvertently sent me his previous client list. I should really call them and say "Hey just wanted you to know, this HVAC guy that was there last year, or the year before, the guy who gave me your address and phone number inadvertently... we'll he didn't do anything wrong... but he wasn't really thinking properly about how the entire structure works as a system. He should have said "Hey I really want to put this AC system in for you all but seriously folks, you should really insulate the slopes first. Then I'll put the duct work and the air handler in after. It will actually make your AC system smaller.  Might be able to sell you a smaller 2 1/2 ton condenser instead of this 3 1/2 ton one. Oh, and by the way here's the rebate info on this. "  But, he didn't. And so I had to call.
